Review: The Body Shop's Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation and their brand values

If you live in a rush like me, and like doing your make up on your train commute you're going to love this foundation from The Body Shop as much as I do. I have been testing the new Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation this foundation for the last three weeks, and I can now tell you what I love about it.

First of all, the packaging is fuss free. I didn't know I needed this kind of packaging for an 'on the go' foundation until I tried it. I usually do my make up in the morning, sitting on the tube (bless the 40 minutes commute), so this compact formula avoids any possibility of spillage, while keeping the product in hygienic conditions. It comes with a cushion sponge for the application of the product, and it has its little place between the mesh with the foundation, and the mirror.

Regarding the coverage, It has a very light one. I would say it acts as a skin perfector. It gives the right amount of light, color correction, and dewiness that you need. It gives a very natural finish and I can still see my skin after applying foundation. They say it has a semi matte finish, but I don’t see it like that.

Also, this foundation is catalogued as Non-comedogenic, so it’s ok to use for acne prone skins like mine.

Another "feature" of this foundation, is that it decreases the temperature of your skin by 1 degree when you apply it. This cooling effect has helped me to reduce the redness on my cheeks. This is probably due to the organic Community trade aloe vera and English rose water the foundation contains.

Speaking of the ingredients, I also wanted to touch on where these come from. I had the opportunity to travel down to Littlehampton for the day and get to know first hand the brand values this company holds.I left very impressed and inspired!

Their values about activism and irreverence totally comply with mine. :)
Since the 70's they were one of the first companies to avoid testing on animals. And currently they are involved in funding projects for wildlife crime prevention, indigenous tribes rights, a mobile app for holiday makers to highlight animal suffering, as well as projects for protecting the future of species like pangolins or turtles.

They make sure all the ingredients for their products come from sustainable sources... and that they pay a fair trade price to farmers and workers around the world. They also make a difference funding the education, childcare and healthcare of these workers.
So, since that day, I can’t stop praising what they do! But also, it has left me a desire to do more myself.

We also had fun making our own shower gel.

Here I leave you with some cool slogans that inspired me.

4 reasons why I love Autumn

Luxury Wood Watch
 1. I love using some summer clothes styled up in an autumnal way. Here you can see a white lace dress I got at the end of the season, and I can still wear it just by adding a cool leather jacket and warmer accessories.

2. I start wearing dark red lips again. I feel this complements perfectly the colours I wear on clothes too! So I swap the pinks I wear in Summer for warmer reds.

3. It's an opportunity to buy new accessories! Here you can see me with one of my latest additions: a wooden Jord watch. I find it super stylish and the material is so original I always get asked about it! I wear the model Frankie in ebony and gold.

Best news is that I have a $20 e-gift card so you can all get one at a reduced price too!
Also, you'll be entered in a competition to win a $75 voucher for one of you!

4. Its the season to wear boots again! When we say goodbye to the summer weather I cant wait to jump into my boots. I find them super versatile as you can wear them with sort or long dresses, jeans, tights, etc. And they protect my feet on the rainy days!

Review: Kiehl´s Ultra Facial Cream

For those who have  followed me for a while, you'll know that I almost never speak about moisturisers. Until very recently I relied on hydrating serums and didn't use these kind of cream in the morning. The situation has now changed thanks to the discovery of this Kiehl's gem: the ultra facial cream

My favourite part: it is super lightweight. The main issue I had with moisturisers was the way I felt them sitting on my skin for the rest of the day.

I find this one gets absorbed super fast and I like how my skin feels after applying it on. I've almost used it up!

It does have a great hydrating power. And it doesn't get my skin greasy after a while (something I've also noticed with others).
Not sure it helps with balancing and mattifying, especially on the T-zone. But it doesn't make it worse and that's perfectly fine with me.

Have you ever tried anything from Kiehl's? What do you recommend?

My Nars Audacious Lipstick: Brigitte tan rose review

I´ve been meaning to talk you about one of my newest lip colors. I recently got a NARS Audacious lipstick in the Brigitte shade, and I ´ve been loving it!

It delivers opaque color in a single stroke. I use it when I go for a low key look, and applying this one doesn't take either time, either a lot of effort. I can almost do it without a mirror ;)

I have the color Brigitte, a tan rose that I find perfect for my everyday. It´s a great color to transition from the vivid pinks I live in Summer, to the dark reds I wear in Winter.

With a creamy consistency and a semi matte finish, it glides smoothly on the lips. And although it's not very nourishing, it's not drying either. The longevity of this lipstick is great as it has a lot of pigment.

It comes in a black metal case with a smooth matte finish, and oh! the magnetic closure…  I just feel good whenever I put the cap on! It´s that ah! effect.

You can see it in action on my recent vlog in the French coast :)

Have you ever tried any of these lipsticks? What do you think of them?

My essentials for perfect eyelashes: Lilash, Urban Decay, Benefit and Lancôme

I think lashes are one of the most important features we must enhance with make up. Your lashes appearance will define your look no matter if you want to go for a natural or for a smoky eye. Lately, I’ve been testing some products to achieve the perfect eyelashes look, and these are my favourites. The ones that really deliver results.

I have been trying out Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer. It feels like a cream for your lashes and it works to lengthen and volumize them. It has Vitamin E so it treats the lashes on the long run, or so I like to think! Once on it adds weight and gives the mascara something to grab onto. I usually apply it, and let it sit for 2 minutes (while I do my brows), and then go back to my lashes and apply the mascara. Great add on for any (maybe cheaper) mascara you want to use!

In order to make my lashes grow I've been using Lilash. A product that I had already tested two years ago (you can see the video I made about it here). I can confidently say that Lilash definitely works and using it consistently for three to four weeks will make your lashes grow. For real. They will also get a bit more curled. I’ve used it once a day as if I was applying an eyeliner on the root of my clean lashes. And with time, I’ve seen them grow two to three mm. Simple, and marvellous as that! Last time I used it, the 2ml tube lasted for around 6 months so it’s worth its price.

Now that I have grown super lashes again I am enjoying a lot putting more mascara on them and playing with looks. Bye bye frustration from straight short lashes ;)

First one is Roller Lash from Benefit. It has a rubber wand that grabs all the hairs, lifts, and gives them a bit of a curl and the right amount of product. The finished look with this one is separated and elongated lashes. It doesn't smudge during the day and I love it for a natural “long lashes” look.

My other favourite and most recent discovery is Grandiôse from Lancôme. It gives real volume and a very dramatic look as it is very dark. The wand is twisted to help with the application, although I’m not sure it helps me that much. I find that I can’t do the zig-zag movement I usually do when applying these products. It’s better to grab the hair on the root and lift it straight up, but the final result is really good! The formula is great, it has never smudged, and I love the full voluminous effect it creates.

Both these mascaras are very easy to remove with my usual Garner micellar cleansing water without much rubbing at all.

If you want to shop any of this products you can get a 10% discount when you spend more than 35 on FeelUnique.com. Use the code BEA10 at the checkout!

I love these four products. I believe my lashes are at its best at the moment!
